About a Year ago I wanted to reduce the waste, energy and consumption of my business, so I decided to add giftware that was on the ground locally or Australian made. First of I started collecting, wonderful decorative vessels that could be re-purposed as gifts, packaging or wrapping such as,chocolate boxes and soap boxes, with ghost perfumes of the past, biscuit tines and woven baskets,up-cycled fabric for japanese Furoshiki gift-wrapping which can double as a hand towel, head scarf or tea towel. The choice to reuse gift-wrapping is a commitment. These projects call for a bit of elbow grease as it is, not to mention the time and effort of salvaging the material. Beautiful and perfectly reusable paper and ribbons. It is a challenge and challenges are fun! But most importantly, you'll have the piece-of-mind in knowing yout choice is the right thing.
Next I sourced proudly Australian made products. Then I dabbled in antiquity Gifts, from church fates to op shops, on holiday and in my travels these gifts are chosen for the quality, chiasma, purpose or past. Beautiful presented and given a second life, through you …
Local Art. Searching for and interviewing local, National artist to give a face & story for their Art,Poetry and Love with profits spent back into the community around me, while reducing consuming products from overseas.
And organically my waste of bubble wrap, polyester foam, cardboard, plastic and pollutions reduced across our blue ocean. My waste is reduced dramatically.
Then added Benefical Gardens Natrual gift-ware to encourage green space a step further by suppling potted gifts that produce pollen, seed or nectar for native wildlife, or fruits or herbs for the home. Small Trees to cool, shade and increase property value. By applying my background of garden design.
We can make a difference
Through our Choices in life.
What is WA Global warming ?
Perth population is only 1.985 million.
Over 50% of Perth’s drinking water comes from the desalination plants from the Ocean and every day a massive amount of Perth’s sewage, filleted toilet water is being pumped back into underground aquifers to keep our swamps, lakes and rivers alive and not turn into basins of cracked mud, last year my local Beenyup Wastewater Treatment Plant in Criaige pumped 29 billions litres of sewage water just to cope with lack of water under our feet. Our aquifers cannot keep up with the amount of wasted water of hundred of thousands of hungry lawns and landscapes that need to be drip feed all through summer, couple this with the reality that our winter are warming and our precious rain fall is reducing.
